Bat out of hell

Hi there again. After 3 visits to the clinic, 4 day MC, many fever cycles, stomach bloatiness... I finally have to go work again tmr. Just thank God its Friday? Yeah right. There's so much to catch up at work I will not know where to start. But we're not here to discuss work are we?

Let's see.... the good thing about 4 days of hanging out between a) my bed; and b) my table is = I get to finish watching a myriad of vcds like the whole of Friends season 2, and Headmasters (transformers) season 2 and several episodes of crayon sinchan which otherwise would take me ages to complete. My landlady has been very nice to cook porridge for most of my meals i must remember to thank her soon.

Let me introduce you to some new additions to my room... First of all, meet my head height office chair (which I conned off Janelle marked down ;P). Somehow I think she decided to play a wild card on me by forgetting to bring the 4 bolts? you know, the ones that join the wheels and the seat together? Just kidding Janelle. She just brought the wrong ones.. so currently its serving as my floor seat, if it means anything at all. If this was Melby, I would happily bring my wheeless chair to the beach, plant it on the sand, and watch the world go by. It's quite comfortable actually, even without wheels.

Next, meet my newly erected swedish made (Ikea actually) standing lamp. It's quite cool coz it can actually be seperated into a ceiling pointing lamp, and a reading lamp. Did i mention erected? Swedish made? Nevermind...

Other items are my new water kettle, laundry basket (kapoked frm Janelle), mirror for the vain and a rug. Sigh, visits to ikea...

Oh CNY. Who could leave out CNY? How was yours? Got many ang pows? I had a handfull too. Haha. Went up to Gentings, and spent 10 hours in the casino and came back down. Boy was it crowded. Basically we spent 45 mins looking for parking and landed ourselves like 18 decks below entrance. That 500m x 500m mountain top had easily housed 20 000 ppl that day man, no joke. Basically was to spend some time with both my sisters as well. Oh before that, I met my nephew 4 mth old Earnest. That dude's born with strong grip man... Mum said he graps the hair and also swipes ppl's spectacles off their faces. But he's very quiet and likes to stare at ppl and things long and hard, as if he's studying the subject. Then I went to KL, met up with Yuet Mei in the day, and Mun Sum in the night. But I think seafood should never be mixed with JD and Pina Colada shit man... coz a tummy ache at 4 am in the morning can hardly be attributed to the RM3 soy sauce flavoured microwaved maggie mee I had the day b4 inside Gentings Casino.

Boy have I got shitloads to complain.

As I boarded the bus back to Melaka from that stinky bus station called Puduraya. Reminds me of the good old days when I studied in Taylors. Every Friday I had to go to go thru this shithole to take a bus. Many countrymen can relate to this. If I ever wrote in a column meant for "Good Malaysians Fuck Crap Malaysians", it'd be simple ++ Dear Mayor - WHY? ++. I mean, JB has changed from that thug-filled pesthole to a much more spacious Larkin Station. Even small town like Melaka has moved its Ah Kua famous Jalan Kilang bus station to a new, much more well terminal. But Puduraya? A KL taxi driver told me... Puduraya hasn't changed in all its 40 years of history. The ticketing booths stand on top the bus terminals and access into the 20 terminals are via just one lane. On a busy day, buses queue as far back as 1 km before they can get in thru the lane. And since ventilation is extremely poor versus almost 50 berthing buses chugging carbon monoxide at any one time, I say pay me back me lungs Mr Mayor for those 6 months of shit I underwent! Oh what? U're too busy playing golf with your 17th wife? Hello.. u probly confused holes in the golf course with ????

Well if u're Singaporean reading tis, yes life is very very exciting over the other side of the causeway and Malysians grew up with plenty of surprises from authorities. If you are Bruneian, this can be comparable to what you experienced but still I maintain that no one do it better than us. If you are Indonesian, boy your country is screwed - Call me paranoid but I'd bloody paint myself brown and call me Tjokro Bambang something, before I dare step in the country again - Dun blame me, I have but just one life to live. If you are Thai, hmmm...guess u r too busy watching over your southern provinces. If u r Pilipino... You! Yes YOU - could be on Abubu's list next! But but.... if you are Malaysian, you'd say "Dude, I have more to add!" Read on.

Last Christmas night, I went back - No electricity for 4 hours! A day before Chinese New Year, no water! First night CNY, no electricity from 8 to 2 am. I'd burn effigies of some leaders if I can, but wait.... I dun wanna be accused of so-do-you so-do-me(my) now do I? How come we never had power/water breakdowns on CERTAIN festivities? How come the police, the municiple, and road transport authorities are so damn hardworking during CNY? How come everynight when I hear some sound outside my house, or when the dog barks my family and I feel so unsafe? Oh maybe it's because there had been several attempts to break into our house, and once thieves actually got into my grandfolks place next door? I got a friend who's house is broken/attempted break-in into 1-3 times a year for the past 20 years.

Civicswise... certain groups in this country are still far far behind modern times. Attempts to Levi's and Nike themselves dun seem to take much effect. I can only advise them to go lepak one corner and continue to take from those who made it honestly and fairly. Who's paying the bulk of income text? And who's reaping from it? Who get's to go to local unis with super crap results even? Who gets to attend special tipping classes before exams in unis? And guess who comes out with 1st class honours and goes ahead to be head of government departments? Sigh, what a nice country, missing by only fairness. Anyway, someone's gotta be (reluctantly) the bigger person rite? How else could we have maintained such apparent peace?

Now where was I again? Oh well, I got to remind myself not to get worked out over this. Not too good for my current stomach condition you see.

Go furdy!
