Ich bin krank

.....means "I am sick" in German. Hi again Furdelance, hope you haven't changed much since two months ago when I met you. I remember we used to meet each other quite often for the first few days of knowing each other. Then I got this job at Toll in Altona, as a packer since last month. It has been a great 8 weeks since I started there. Made some friends and watched many casuals come and go.

Today, I have to say that I too, like the many others before me, have to say goodbye. Well, actually, 24 hours ago.. I could have sworn that I would still be working today and tomorrow. But alas! Woke up late this morning, just to realise that it is already 630 and I was already late by 30 minutes. Hence I became sick inevitably... Quite amazed that I had forgotten to switch on both my alarms last night. Called in sick...

Anyway, why do I say that I'd pack my last box of biscuits yesterday? Its because next week I wont be going in... have lots to do between now and Wednesday when my parents & sis come. Amazing how time flies. 8 weeks and I have grown quite used to working there, despite the waking up at 430 in the morning, the speeding across the M1, the counting of how many incoming TOLL trucks on the way to work (Apparently after last weeks drinking with my workmates Glen & Paul, I found out that Glen also does that as he drives from Bacchus Marsh to Altona).....

Have to say I will miss the afternoon view from the Westgate bridge (I believe this is about the highest elevation that a car can travel in Melbourne) as I drive home. On a bright day, you can see the shimmering waters of the Port Melbourne bay from there. Cradled afloat is of course the Spirit of Tasmania...

Neways, I am keeping my fingers crossed that I will not screw up my parents trip this time round. Did not really think it was necessary for them to come down for my graduation this time, coz its definitely the same old shit 2 years back when I had my bachelors graduation. Nevertheless, I think it is nice of them to want to come down. They probably also yearn for a little travel themselves. This time we have Tasmania, regional South Australia and regional Victoria in our sights. Hope its all good.

Oh, forgot to tell you... I changed Maggie's heart (for those who aren't familiar, Maggie is my car and her heart is the water pump). Can't believe she sat it out with me for more than 2 years with her ailing heart. I guess my daily 75 km travel to and from work just made it worse for her. I also scheduled to change her knees, which have been giving out loud awful rattling sounds (knees = CV joints). So I should mention again that I am thankful to her for she had watched over me even when I cast her in neglect for 2 years. OK, Furdelance... I think its time for me to say goodbye again... U hang in there :)...
